Fleur - Turns The Lights On
Record of the Day described her as the next drum n’ bass star and with this song we can see why!
Here’s some more info on her:
Fleur spent 2012 on tour as the lead vocalist for DJ Fresh in a busy year that included collaborations with Drumsound & Bassline Smith, White N3rd, DJ Fresh (Turn It Up), Davinche, Tim Powell and Carl Ryden and ending with a One To Watch feature on Channel 4’s Freshly Squeezed. Produced and co-written by Culture Shock, Turn The Lights On is picking up an incredible amount of specialist radio support from Friction and Phil Taggart & Alice Levine on Radio 1, to Crissy Criss on 1Xtra, Steve Smart and The Wideboys on Kiss FM and Eddy Temple-Morris on Xfm. The video is playlisted on Starz and Kiss TV Breakin Beats as well as gaining spot plays on MTV Dance and Channel AKA. Fleur is currently in the middle of a national club PA tour and is receiving a host of online and press support including UKF, SBTV and RWD.

Dave Navarro and Carmen Electra by David LaChapelle.
This photo was used for their 2003 wedding invitations, evoking the vow and title of the MTV broadcast of their nuptials, “Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen + Dave.” I appreciate the grim sense of humor they had about their relationship (which ended in 2006). Not everyone can be bold and self-assured on their wedding invitation, but then again, not everyone can afford David LaChapelle.
I wish I had been around to witness those days!

RIP Society of the Day: Oh God, it’s spreading: MTV UK has unleashed upon the world the first official promo for Geordie Shore — the British Jersey Shore spinoff based in Newcastle upon Tyne (Geordie being a regional nickname for Tynesiders).
There’s nothing quite like taking everybody down with you.
I was in Newcastle when they were actually shooting this - it was dire. DIRE I tell you haha!

MTV: The Music Never Stops
To launch MTV’s new concept - The music never stops - we used one of music’s universal symbols: the band t-shirt. We selected t-shirts of artists of different generations. Then we cut them in half and sewed the halves together. On one side, an artist of the current generation. On the other, an artist who influenced him. Over 2,500 models were delivered to four different states in Brazil. VJs and musicians wore them on MTV and were watched by millions. It was made clear to the public. Just like music, MTV never stops.

What do you think? I don’t really think the idea is that obvious - at least I wouldn’t have gathered all that information out of 2 tshirts being sewed together…
